Meet our New Intern Jamila White!

Hello! My name is Jamila L. White and I am Mira Mediaworks' newest intern.

When I committed to attend The Pennsylvania State University in the fall of 2013, I was ecstatic to finally embark on my journey to becoming a reporter. As I pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish Linguistics, I am confident the experience I will gain through Mira Mediaworks will only make this journey less difficult and worthwhile.

I strongly believe that journalism is a powerful and critical medium in connecting people and societies all around the world. It provides audiences of all different backgrounds with information and unique perspectives on various regions and cultures that would otherwise be unnoticed. This is similar to the foundation of Mira Mediaworks and the central focus of one word that is defined differently in a plethora of languages; mira. In Latin, the word mira is defined as wonder. In Hebrew, the word mira is defined as light. I believe the media is able to discover all the wonder that the world has to offer while also shedding light, or awareness, to stories that were often left in the dark.

I am eager to show our audience the growth that Mira Mediaworks will experience throughout the summer through this blog. Please feel free to check every other week our accomplishments and projects that will continue to amaze.
